MORE ABOUT LINCOLN CROCKETT:

Lincoln Crockett is the real deal, a talented solo performer singing standout original songs on mandolin & guitar, all while playing leads, rhythms and chords all at the same time. He holds audiences’ attention with nothing more than the expansiveness in his voice and his ability to move a mountain of music through his instruments. Stylistically he twists funk, punk, bluegrass, new-age, prog-rock and folk into a mesmerizing set of uplifting, wry soul-searching. The combined effect has garnered Lincoln attention from within the regional music industry community, the reputation of being a 'musician's musician' and growing audience support.

Lincoln cut his chops as singer, songwriter and mandolin player for progressive bluegrass band Cross-eyed Rosie, and has helped turn this popular Portland, Oregon five-piece into the Northwest's premier group of its kind. The band sold out it's Portland and Seattle cd release shows for their long-awaited disk second disk Adjusted and remains popular. Their next appearance is at Portland's Roots festival, Pickathon!

Lincoln is a Portland, Oregon-based, working musician who can be found touring the Northwest and singing and playing mandolin in several projects, including progressive bluegrass powerhouse Cross-eyed Rosie, 'blues-grass' duo Robb&Crockett (with singer/songrocker Jimmy Robb), a remarkable modern folk & bluegrass duo with award-winning singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Chris Kokesh and Lincoln's latest baby, Lincoln Crockett & Enemies. Enemies are a power-trio in themselves, featuring guitarist Jim McKeon, bassist Tyler Smith and drummer Andy Love. Lincoln also lends his skills to supporting Portland area artists like Brad Creel and Alexa Wiley.

In addition to releasing Angels & Devils Alike, in 2007 Lincoln opened for Phish's Page McConnell at Portland's Aladdin Theater, had his song 'When Will You Come Home' featured on KINK 101.9FM's Local Music Spotlight and placed his popular song 'Sawdust Settler' on a compilation benefiting the Salmon Nation Project. He began 2008 with a successful solo tour into Washington, a guest appearance sitting-in with virtuosos Tony Furtado and Scott Law, and yet another spin on KINK. From here Lincoln is looking forward to increased touring in support of the new album, a significant press campaign and continuing his course as a successful independent musician.

As a solo performer, Lincoln's intricately crafted pop, bluegrass rippers and personal folk songs are full of soul and motion: fluid, expressive, gentle, intense. This is especially apparent live. He is a top-notch musician on both of his instruments, and sings in one of the most strikingly beautiful voices to come out of Portland's Indie-loving underbelly. Totally unique, this is a modern ear returning to traditional instruments. Call it the sound of when gentle kicks a##.

ON THE MUSIC PAGE you can hear tracks from the Angels & Devils Alike and his 2004 EP Make Love Music, plus a live version of ‘Gone Away’ from his 2007 set at Portland's Aladdin Theater!
