  • I'm amazed to get to play with the likes of this fine folk lady. While I'm glowing, the press release is more articulate:

"In scorching form" (UK Telegraph), Northern California's own Rita Hosking ritahosking.com sings of forest fires, culture clash, demolition derbies, the working class and hope. From major U.S. festivals to Bob Harris's BBC show, Rita is moving audiences around the globe with her stories in song and doubly sweet and sinewy voice, "a captivating performer," (R2 Magazine.) Rita brings her show to O’Connor’s Vault, Friday, March 27, accompanied by her husband, dobro/banjo player Sean Feder, with local mandolinist/guitarist, singer-songwriter Lincoln Crockett opening and accompanying Rita on her set.

Rita's style of country-folk has been lauded for story and sense of place, and her performances praised for capturing the audience. Honors include winner of the 2008 Dave Carter Memorial Songwriting Contest at the Sisters Folk Festival, finalist in the 2009 Telluride Music Festival Troubadour Contest, and more. "This California girl comes by her mountain-music sensibility with true authenticity, with original songs deeply rooted in her family's frontier experience," (Dan Ruby,FestivalPreview.com) and Rita's fans call her "the real deal." A descendant of Cornish miners who sang in the mines, Rita grew up with deep regard for folk music and the power of the voice.

    More press:

"Her breed of Nor Cal country folk ain't quite old-timey, and it ain't quite bluegrass, but damn it's sweet. For fans of Emmylou and Gillian, this one's a safe bet. The songs of Rita Hosking are as fragile as a newborn baby, and defiant as a West Virginia coal miner." --Stuart Mason, Fiddlefreak Folk Review

"Heartfelt country soul set by someone who has quietly become one of the best...Hosking is a real talent, and sits up alongside Nanci Griffith as someone who understands the human heart and can touch it every single time." --Jeremy Searle, Maverick Magazine

"She's been called the best kept secret in country folk and Rita's razor-sharp songs and great live performances bear out the claim." --The Daily Mirror, April 5 2013

Opening for and accompanying Rita will be Lincoln Crockettlincolncrockett.com, local mandolin master and word wizard, once ubiquitous on the Portland pub scene, but currently a scarce sighting having settled into a less frenetic domestic lifestyle in Trout Lake, Washington.

"Lincoln Crockett has a voice like wind in the hills. There's honesty, vulnerability, and an edge of loss in these modern bluegrass-tinged tunes. Excellent mandolin and guitar playing only highlight the spiritual edge of his singing." Dan Linn, Rosedrop Media Circus

  • Guitarist Jim McKeon understands how my musical heart & mind works.

I pick an odd chord, he throws on the extensions. Those are the extra notes that make jazz rich.

He does aikido, I do energy work. We are comfortable in unpredictable circumstances where alert flow is paramount.

Matt Miner is presenting us together in "Fourteen Dangerous Strings", a speakeasy-style show at Mississippi Pizza Pub, Saturday, Feb 28th. Sponsored by Paperjam Press

Jim and I will playfully, enjoy, deconstruct and illuminate the musical harmony and density I've deliberately worked into songs throughout my career, from Cross-eyed Rosie to the present.

Here's an example: This is us doing "Glory Halelujah", one of my live staples for years. This is also track 1 on Play In The Yard. The video is part documentary and part embarrassing selfie war. Just watch and laugh.

Come for dinner, come for drinks, dig the music, snap your fingers instead of clapping. The atmosphere is loose jazz club, and you are the beatniks. Bring your beret, I guess. Kids are welcome too.

How did we arrive at the title? We actually had to check this ourselves. Uh, mandolin + guitar = got it.

...and pssst: It'll be Jim's birthday too. We hope you'll join us.

About Beth from her web site:

Beth Wood is a modern-day troubadour and believer in the power of song. Her exceptional musicianship, crafty songwriting, and commanding stage presence have been winning over American audiences for sixteen years. Beth’s music is soulful, organic, intelligent, barefoot, high-energy communication of joy.

Picture a home-body with an ever-present wanderlust, an introvert with a passion for performing, a creative free-spirit with enough discipline to rework her dream year after year, calloused little hands and a big pile of curly hair…and you’ve got Beth Wood.

    The Washington Post sez:

“Beth Wood is a musical triple-threat — a thoughtful songwriter and talented multi-instrumentalist with a supple, soulful voice.”

  • From the press release:

Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome singer-songwriter and mandolin master Lincoln Crockett to their bi-monthly circle at O’Connor’s Vault in Multnomah Village,Monday, October 6 at 7:00pm

Lincoln Crockett http://www.lincolncrockett.com is one of the finest of the new breed of Portland-based singer-songwriters, and a wizard with a mandolin.  Lincoln's occasional collaborator Chris Kokesh calls his music “A kick in the pants with a hug.  Like ‘Hey, wake up’ and ‘I understand, we’re all in this together’.”  Once ubiquitous on the Portland pub scene, Lincoln is currently a scarce sighting having settled into a less frenetic domestic lifestyle in Trout Lake, Washington.

The usual suspects bookending Lincoln will be Cal Scott, jack-of-many-genres who writes and performs with The Trail Band and Kevin Burke, and the word-witty and tune-wise Richard Moore, likely to share a few more scenes from “Rain,” his musical-in-the-works about Portland.

Discount advance tickets are $12 each fromhttp://songwriterscrockett.brownpapertickets.com

I've been on Mo's last couple albums singing and playing mandolin, especially a sweet duet with Little Sue called "The Princess & The Cowboy".  Look it up!

Also joining us is Ellie Holzemer Russell, the fantastic fiddler who used to rock out with me in Cross-eyed Rosie.

It is going to be jumpin' and super fun. I really hope if you have yunguns that we see y'all out.

Remember, it is two shows, but a really intimate space. Mo's New Years shows at the Bad Habit Room sold out in three days!

  • Uh, wow.  I could not gush about this evening enough.  If you don't already know all of these musicians (and are therefore probably stunned to see this gathering), then you must go to their websites and work up a good lather.

Its really going to be something special, these songwriters in the round.  Chris is a longtime friend and collaborator, LJ is one of the best songwriters I have ever met and a national talent, and Richey is one of my favorite songwriters in Portland.

The Peace House is one of those wonderful places that I can't believe exists, and yet does.  To have this performance in this house in such a setting, well, I don't know what music is really about, but I know its about this for sure.

  • Ruins Tuesday is a Summer - long event, where Springhouse Cellar and Solstice Woodfire Cafe partner up to create the best venue and pizza in town!

Every Tuesday from 5-10pm, from July-September, this family-friendly event has had the Solstice Mobile Oven with wine & micro brews, along with great local bands and unmatched acoustics.  Feast on artisan wood-fire pizza and s'mores, all paired with delicious Gorge wines made in-house.

September 25th is the Grand Finale Party, featuring a bunch of dust-kicking bluegrass from my buddies in Northwest stalwarts Jackstraw, nobody does it better.  I'll open up the evening with my 'R n Bluegrass' from 5 - 7, Jackstraw will rip the imaginary roof off from 7 - 10.  I say imaginary cuz there is no roof.  Ya gotta see it to believe it.

Nathaniel Talbot opened my first cd release show in 2007, I simply adore what he does.  He now lives on an island as a full-time farmer and makes it back occassionally to blow people's minds with his extraordinary Travis picking guitar and delicate chamber pop folk.

I first heard Jeffrey Martin at 2011's Sister's Folk Festival Americana Songwriter Accademy and was blown away by his soulfulness.  But even before that I took one look at him and had a gut feeling, like, 'woa, lookout, this guy goes deep.'  We've been wanting to do something together for a long time.

Needless to say, its a mutual love fest.  We'll begin with three short solo sets and then play in the round for the rest of the evening, chiming in and jamming together on several songs.  I'm glad every time Nathaniel makes it back to town, and I know you will be to.

  • This is nothing short of a dream bill I've had in mind for a long time and its finally happening tonight.  These are truly exceptional musicians who each in their own right have a masterful command of their art.

Irish flute player Hanz Araki is the quintessential world music musician.  Best known for his playing and singing of Celtic music, Hanz (short for Hanzaburo) is the world’s only sixth generation shakuhachi player, the traditional bamboo "Zen flute" of Japan.  He has performed around the world with the Juno Award-winning Paperboys, Casey Neill and an all-star tribute to The Pogues called K.M.R.I.A. alongside members of The Decemberists and REM. He has played with the Seattle Symphony and is featured on more than a dozen recordings and soundtracks, from feature films and documentaries to popular video games.

Kathryn Claire has asserted herself in a new generation of traditionally-inspired musicians. As a violinist, singer, and songwriter she has cultivated a style that is technically graceful and moves seamlessly across genres.  She has collaborated with many Portland stalwarts including KMRIA, The Portland Cello Project, Chris Kokesh & more. The Eugene Weekly says the songs on Kathryn's new album, Morning Comes Too Soon, “leave you with goosebumps.”

Together Hanz & Kathryn have toured extensively throughout the US, Canada, and Japan and have released an ambitious series of themed Celtic music albums.

I've said enough in these emails about acoustic guitarist Nicolas Miranda to fill several press releases.  He's wonderful.  Together, he and I create a bluegrazzy modern folk, passing his guitar and my mandolin between us.  Its fun and dynamic, its off the rails, it dances and flies.  We truly play.

Its a campout weekend!  Come camp out at the Guler-Trout Lake County campground on what will surely be a gorgeous July weekend.  There are 40 sites: (509) 773-4616, some group that can be reserved, others on a first come basis.  Has water, electricity, & hot showers, all within stumbling distance of the Inn, the local swimming hole on Trout Creek and the mercantile.

Brad Creel is one of my oldest friends in Portland, and he just happens to be a crack songwriter and bandleader to boot.  His brand of country music is hilarious, intelligent, tongue-in-cheek, and poignant all at the same time.  I'll be the featured on mandolin and harmonies tonight at The Historic Trout Lake Country Inn.

The TLCI has been a haven for raucousness for over 100 years, and I am firmly placing my vote to continue the tradition.  These days they feature cold beers and delicious, home-made food, surrounded by all the beauty that Trout Lake has too offer.  Good people come to have a good time here.

  • I played Will West's ADD Love Showcase last month and discovered a gem: Will has gathered together a community of people who are equal parts cool and kind, who sing and play really solid music to, with, and for one another.  Along the way a warm scene has pooled around them, no small feat for only doing this once a month on a Tuesday.  The ADD Love Showcase also features Portland indie singer/songwriter combos The Druthers and The Sale, and generally ends with a monster jam.  This month I'll be joined by my good buddy Jim McKeon on guitar.  If you're in Portland later tonight looking for something you'll love, this was just the thing you're looking for.

  • Its going to be a special night at the White Eagle.  Each one of tonight's bandleaders is a guru in their own right!  All of us share our unique insights into art and life professionally through workshops, lessons and classes, and all of us knows our way around a song.

The night begins at 9:30 with a duo set by Halelupe.  'Lupe writes remarkable, intricate and unexpected songs.  She has an uncanny knack to tie the music directly to the soaring feeling at the heart of each one.  They're marvelous and unique, uplifting and groovy to boot.

Next the Michelle Kopper Band takes the stage for a full set of music featuring Michelle's long-time friend and collaborator Craig Stewart from the online radio show "Between The Notes" on guitar and newest collaborator Mont Chris Hubbard local songwriter/composer on keyboard. Welcoming Will & Fletcher on Bass & Drums respectively...serving up a fresh interpretation of some of her favorites in that soul-searching-meets-humor-meets-determination=JOY... way that she does.

Finally, Lincoln Crockett and the band from his electric album "Play In The Yard" - Jim McKeon on guitar, Tyler Smith on bass, Andrew Love on Drums - will do a long romp through songs from Lincoln's entire exceptional catalog. Sometimes called 'SPB', sometimes forming the core of Lincoln's 6-piece bluegrass/jazz/rock/fusion crew 'Enemies', this quartet has spent the past 5 years together honing a deep live interplay. The music stretched out, tightly funktified, progressive folk rock fusionized and always moving.

If you are a friend or fan of any one of these bands, do not miss this show!

  • Will and I used to run into each other touring around the region as solo acts, and now look at him!  He was up for awards at this year's Portland Music Awards and his band Will West & The Friendly Strangers, reads like a who's who of Americana musicians.

Will's up-temp folk and roots music is the perfect thing to see at the Goodfoot, itself a funky, upbeat, fun place to hang out that I've been coming to ever since arriving in Portland more than a decade ago.  This place rocks, this guy rocks, and you know what?

Enemies rocks too.  Since last month's successful benefit concert this band has proved itself a knockout - axeman Jim McKeon, banjo savant Peter Schwimmer (Sam Hill & many others), tasty keys from Jeff Baxter (RedRay Frazier, My Oh My's), and the tightest darn rhythm section this side of the Cascades in bassist Tyler Smith & drummer Andrew Love.

So come rock the night away and get your weekend started off with a bang, on a Thursday!  Enemies is up first and both bands will play long sets until the wee hours.  Lets have some fun!

This one's for everyone who's been asking for an earlier show, we hear you!

Got kids and don't want to have to leave 'em at home? Bring 'em here and they can eat pizza. Love the music but don't want to have a late night, we want to see you!

This Sunday, 3/4/12, Leela Grace and Lincoln Crockett are getting together for a easy-going Sunday music hang out. They'll each do a set, and maybe, just maybe (ok, highly likely), play some songs and sing together.

Leela Grace is a Columbia, Missouri native and a Portland, Oregon transplant who has performed nationally for over 25 years, first with her family, and now as a solo musician. Leela’s “soaring” vocals, compelling original songs, “sterling credentials” in old-time music, powerful percussive dance, and disarming stage presence make her a favorite at venues across the continent. Leela recorded three albums with her family as a teen, has been a studio musician on numerous CDs, and has released two acclaimed duo CDs with her sister.

Leela has earned critical and audience praise for the “great depth and insight” of her original songs, which have been featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered and chosen for inclusion on a “Best of Portland Acoustic Music” compilation CD. She picked up the banjo as a young teen and has now been playing for over 20 years, developing her own unique clawhammer banjo style, marked by clear melodies and powerful, driving rhythm.

Since moving to Portland in 2007, Leela has become a sought-after performer and banjo, singing, and clogging teacher in the area.  Hope you'll join us!

  • As most of you know, in Feb 2011 we lost our son, Joseph Phoenix, shortly after childbirth. As we grieved we were buoyed by friends and family who introduced us to two priceless resources: Grief Watch (www.griefwatch.com ), a resource for dealing with loss, and The Dougy Center (www.dougy.org ) , supporting grieving children and families. These organizations not only give support to grieving families and children right here in Portland, OR but from all over the country. Both groups are filled with information, knowledge and experience on how to grieve, how to heal, how to live again after the kinds of losses and tragedies people fear most.

We have organized a benefit concert in which all proceeds from the show will go to benefit these two fantastic organizations.

The show will be headlined by Lincoln Crockett & Enemies, a fusion of my acoustic and electric roots all in one vibrant band. Award winning singer/songwriter Chris Kokesh and I will open the night with our popular and dynamic duo.

This event is very close to our hearts musically and as a benefit show, but it is also a memorial for the one year anniversary of the birth of Joseph. We have 300 tickets to sell and we want to sell them all. We hope to see you there and if you wouldn’t mind passing this email and word on to others in your community it would be greatly appreciated.

    Tickets: $15
    To purchase tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/219801

Also, for those of you who cannot make it or are located too far away but would like to be involved in the benefit, we are taking donations by mail to add to the total donation made from the event. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation big or small please make a check out to either The Dougy Center or Grief Watch and mail it to us at:

    Alicia Crockett
    5931 NE Davis St.
    Portland, OR 97213

We will add the checks into the total donation amount made from the event. You can use your cashed check as a receipt for your taxes, but if you would like a receipt from the organization, please indicate that when you mail your check and include a return address.

Thanks to all of you for your support and we hope to see you at the show!

  • For Redray Frazier & I this is a chance for two singers who really dig each others stuff to get together. We've crossed paths for years in Portland, but haven't done a show like this yet!  Ray is genuinely soulful and heartfelt & both of us will bring full bands!

For me this is also the debut run of Lincoln Crockett & Enemies and is the warm-up for Feb 18th's benefit concert at the Old Church. Enemies finally brings together all the music that Lincoln loves - modern indie folk, bluegrass and jazz fusion - into one extremely talented band: Jim McKeon, Peter Schwimmer, Tyler Smith and Andy Love.

A third act may be waiting in the wings. Who should it be?

  • We thought about doing a $20 cover and giving everyone a free pair of sweatpants.  But scrapped it.  Maybe next time.  THIS time I'm going electric and bringing the "Play In The Yard" band with me, with special guest Jason Mellow sitting-in on bass.  Electric Blues-fusion infused takes and take-offs on my tunes.

Here's the secret: To really find out what this band can do --> come see us tonight AND next Saturday UP IN TROUT LAKE!!! Why? 1. exeptional musicians tearing up the page and playing no holds barred beautiful, funky, danceable fusion, and 2. The White Eagle and The Trout Lake Country Inn are priceless hangouts we're lucky to have in the Pacific NW. Be here now.

  • When the organizers of the one-of-a-kind Birdfest & Bluegrass Festival invited me to be the featured artist at a special show at the Old Liberty Theater, I - ever the reluctant frontman - said, "Really? Are you sure?"  Well YES, they are and YES I am.

At 7 pm I'll kick it off with a solo/duo first set trading off guitar and mandolin duties with guest picker Nicolas Miranda.  For the second set we'll be joined by fellow Cross-eyed Rosie alum Jason Mellow on bass and Peter Schwimmer on banjo.

I first pulled together these three of Portland's finest bluegrass pickers in December 2010 and formed the project sometimes referred to as Bloom Out Inside.  Go ahead, say it: "Blue Mountainside", yeah, like that.  We call it 'Indie Chamber Bluegrass' and it is a whole ton of talent and real musical fun.

  • 'Freegrass' - Truly fantastic and truly fun bluegrass-based acoustic music.  I'm just happy as a clam when I play in this quartet, it just about does me in.  This band has a six speed, five wheel drive transmission with room to spare, and still we push the envelope of whatever we play.  We start with traditional bluegrass songs, add our own originals and dip the whole thing in crazy sauce.  Which is to say, this band really knows how to listen, play wide open, and each member is (but for me) is gifted, trained and experienced on their respective guitar, bass and banjo.  Will a fiddle player come out of the mists and join us?  I'm sending smoke signals now.  If you like bluegrass like I do then you should not miss this show.  We're growing something beautiful and I believe, unique in all of Portland.

  • I've always enjoyed playing with Nathaniel and Garett but I knew I could add something special when they invited me to do an opening set.  Before sabbatical last year I holed up with “Angels & Devils Alike” engineer Tom Frisch to record “In Pictures”.  The album is eleven solo performances of then brand-new, untested material.  It’s got everything - guitars, mandolin, even a banjo – but something was missing.  Hmmm… oh, yeah.  Originally released in 2010 as download-only, tonight I will triumphantly unveil – ta da – physical copies.  Plus, I've lived in the music since then.  Mission accomplished, Amercia.

At 27, Oregon-grown tunesmith NATHANIEL TALBOT is newly celebrating his 15th anniversary of song-writing. Alongside his work with Portland's The Physical Hearts and Sleepy Bell exists a wealth of stripped-down solo material. With influences ranging from the traditional sounds of Kelly Joe Phelps, Doc Watson, and Gillian Welch to the more contemporary Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens and Elliott Smith, the music represent a unique synthesis of old-time picking and the indie here-and-now. Nathaniel combines furious, finger-style guitar work with thoughtful, melodic vocal lines to create a sonic experience that is truly fresh and memorable. His latest release "Less Wild" features Sam Howard (Blue Cranes) on bass, Russ Kleiner (Curtis Salgado) on percussion and Ben Blechman (Taarka) on violin.

GARETT BRENNAN and his four brothers grew up surrounded by the refuge of the snowy Wasatch Rockies, and the late night family parties with guitars and banjos and Irish harmonies rocking the neighborhood to sleep. His tunes conjure up the fresh snow of mountains, the clear water of his adopted home in the Pacific Northwest, and the intimacy and jubilance of jamming with some of the top players in the Americana-Roots scene. Producer Cookie Marenco (Blue Coast Records, Windham Hill Records) describes him as "Woody Guthrie meets Tom Waits."  Marenco invited Brennan and his touring band into the studio to record live and the result is Brennan's new EP "The Cookie Tapes".  Yeah!

  • Are you one of the dozens of songwriters I've met at my shows in past few years and have always wanted to play a song for ME instead?  Tonight I'm the featured artist at this weekly celebration of songwriting and songwriter community. It's a great chance to hear from a wide variety of Portland-area songwriters, or to play a tune for an appreciative audience of song-lovers.  Songwriters are invited to put their name in the hat and play an original song as names are drawn throughout the evening. Song-lovers are invited to come and enjoy the great diversity of talent we have in our area.  You should hear it, we really do live in a special place.  As featured performer this week I'll present a 30 to 40 minute set as well. Hosted by Matt Meighan, with Sherry Pendarvis on upright bass. All are welcome!

  • "There's no finer place to while away an evening than in this rustic lair," quothe Rock Creek Tavern's website, and I agree.  A fire reduced the beloved original building to a pile of cinders in September 2002, but the McMenamin brothers rebuilt it using timbers from two local barns, one dating back to the late 1800s.  I'll be hanging out and playing, tavern style.  Friends and families, young and old — all are welcome.

  • It's Big Show Time with a Double CD Release!

Tonight, on his birthday weekend, Brad Creel & the Reel Deel celebrate release their new CD, “Probably Not”.   I love Brad, his music and humor, and so does the Portland Mercury, who said "Gifted with the pen, the punch line, and the guitar, Creel is a vulnerable performer with a deep sense of humor.”The Reel Deel consists of local guitar and mandolin wizard Sat Atma Singh, Ben Grosscup on bass, drummer Mark Pederson, and (Angels & Devils Alike engineer & designer) Tom Frisch on keyboards.  The band spent the summer of 2010 recording at Portland’s KBC records with producer/engineer Shay Scott.  The new CD contains all original material and features local musicians Chris Funk (of the Decemberists) on pedal steel, Thad Beckman on guitar, and Chris Kokesh (of Misty River) on fiddle.

In a trippy twist, I officially released my new full electric-band disk PLAY IN THE YARD on my birthday in January this year too, just as I was embarking on sabbatical.  Now that I'm back with enthusiasm restored, we can finally celebrate!  Joining me tonight and on the album are virtuoso blues-fusion guitarist Jim McKeon, bassist Tyler Smith and drummer Andrew Love.  In 2009, after playing a lot of shows together, we holed up at a cabin near my then home in Trout Lake, WA and laid down an entire album basically in one take - and it is GOOD.  The deeply satisfying results feature electric translations of faves like ”When Will You Come Home” and “Nothing Makes Me Feel Good”, as well as new takes on my BG days in Cross-eyed Rosie and the Josh Cole Band with “Moonbeams & Kerosene” and “Little Cabin Home”.

At the show each ticket holder will get a free Brad Creel & the Reel Deel CD and have the chance to buy a hard copy of "Play in the Yard" for $5!  The Alberta Rose is a historic, newly renovated theater on NE 30th and Alberta in Portland, OR, with cushy seats and a great stage.   Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://www.albertarosetheatre.com/?p=659.   Each of our last CD release shows sold out early so you may want to get your tickets soon!  If you would like a free pass Brad and I have some small volunteer tasks you can help with.  Give us a shout!  The show starts at 8 pm and is 21+.

  • My first date back on Pacific Northwestern soil. I am SO VERY itching to play. Peanut shells on the floor, incomparable beers on tap, my cousin Tom doing the door and singing harmonies... PLUS the possibility of local guest musicians hopping up and jamming with me in that unique-in-all-the-world, Northwestern string-music style. I love it and I hope you'll be there.

  • Dianne and Michael Keane would like to invite you all to join us for a night of music at their house near the twin-cities.  Please RSVP in advance. Seating is limited, first come first served. Doors open at 6:15 pm for gathering and hors d’oeuvres. Please bring wine/beer/drink of choice. To reserve a space, RSVP to dkeane@comcast.net, or call. For the uninitiated, a house concert is a chance to experience music in a warm and intimate environment. You’re invited into someone’s living room to share in a performance by one of their favorite musicians. It's a chance to meet the performers and have them sign their CD. A house concert is also a great social evening of friends and neighbors. The proceeds of houseconcerts go to the musicians and make up a vital part of the livelihood of an independent musician.

  • A true homecoming show, and I’m excited to be joined by Parthenon Huxley (www.parthenonhuxley.com), a world-class musician we discovered living on the same block! According to my parents "We learned about Parthenon Huxley when our grandson fell for the enormous inflatable, animatronic Halloween decorations four doors up the block. It turns out that our neighbor spent nine years as lead guitarist for a latter day version of the world-famous, multi-platinum selling British symphonic rock group ELO. "P. Hux" has a long recording history as a solo artist beginning with his Columbia Records LP "Sunny Nights" which Rolling Stone called "a monumental debut." Huxley went on to win Album of the Year Awards in the indie press for his albums "Deluxe" and "Homemade Spaceship." Parthenon has collaborated with and shared the stage with countless famous names including Crosby, Stills and Nash, Cheap Trick, Brian Wilson, Aimee Mann, Joan Jett, David Lee Roth, Bo Diddley, Linda Ronstadt, Foreigner and many more. A masterful guitarist, singer and songwriter, P. Hux has been dubbed a "pop visionary", "rock's most underrated pop genius" and a songwriting "master." Visit www.parthenonhuxley.com to get to know him more!" Please RSVP in advance. Seating is limited, first come first served. Doors open at 7:15 pm for gathering and hors d’oeuvres. Please bring wine/beer/drink of choice. To reserve a space, RSVP to margssc@verizon.net, or call.
